Sharing my negative experience trying to book a studio for an upcoming photoshoot. My initial inquiry was pretty simple. At the time, I only had a rough idea of how many people might be participating and, without sitting down and making a formal list, I estimated around 15–20 people max. I reached out to the number provided and was told they couldn't accommodate a group that size. Totally understandable. When I had a chance to actually sit down and finalize our attendance list, I realized my original estimate was much higher than the actual number. We would have **11 total participants**, including models and photographers, with **no more than 10 people in the studio at one time** because photographers would be swapping out during the second hour. This would keep us within the maximum capacity listed on their website. I reached back out, explained the corrected numbers and even offered to provide a complete list of everyone attending. Instead, I was quoted **$130/hour**, despite the website advertising the studio at **$75/hour**. When I questioned the booking and explained again that we would be following their capacity rules, I was told they would not allow me to book because they had previous groups lie about their number of attendees. Essentially, because other customers had been dishonest in the past, they decided to assume that I was also being dishonest about my group size. I explained multiple times that my original number was simply an estimate made before I had finalized the participant list. I offered to provide names, clarified exactly how the photographer swap would work, and made it very clear that we intended to follow their stated maximum capacity. I reached out once more asking to book and received no further response. At this point, I'll simply be finding another studio for our shoot. I completely understand a business enforcing its capacity limits and protecting its space, but being treated as though I was lying after openly correcting my estimate, explaining the logistics, and offering documentation was incredibly frustrating. Between that and being quoted nearly twice the publicly advertised hourly rate, the entire experience left a very bad impression.
